Niners win
The Charlotte 49ers, the best team in NC that no one in NC seems to care about, have won again. 8 wins in a row now. Charlotte is now 11-2 and 2-0 in conference play. They are also undefeated on the road, and neither of their 2 home losses have been by more than 2 points.
Charlotte's latest victim is UAB, a team that went to the Sweet 16 last year and had won 16 games in a row on their home court, until the Niners beat them tonight by a score of 91-85 in Birmingham.
UAB is another one of those teams that is really, really good but isn't super sexy, and thus most people aren't aware of how good they are.
But apparently they aren't as good as Charlotte, who stands ready to break into the (meaningless and arbitrary) top 25 with one or two more wins. Charlotte got 3 votes in the last poll, so we'll see where they stand next week.
